Independent Dancer & Creator
Creating has always been the way I understand the world. I began in the visual arts, but over time I felt that objects could only capture traces of life; the moment itself was already gone… I was searching for something alive.

I found the body as my true medium. Through dance, presence replaces representation. Movement becomes a living language through which the subconscious speaks. The studio and the stage are spaces where I can meet myself honestly — fragile and strong at once — and create a direct, human connection with others.

Noam Carmeli is an independent dancer and creator. She is a graduate of the Vertigo Dance Company Training Program and SADNA Dance Workshop Ga'aton.

Her works include In the Name Of (created within the "As Is" residency at Sadnaot Habama Theatre) and Be Patient with Me (developed within the "Practice" program at MASH Dance House). As a performer, she has appeared at Mercurio Festival (Sicily) and Nifgashot Festival (Israel) in IN C by Sasha Waltz, and has taken part in CO LAB, performing works by Edivaldo Ernesto, Milla Koistinen, Michal Mualem, and Gianlberto De Filippis. Her collaborations include Rachel Erdos, Yaniv Cohen, Yankalle Filtser, and Meirav Cohen.

Solo Dance Work — 2025

Name Of

About the work
In the Name Of is a physical and vocal solo exploring femininity through the tension between what is inherited and what is chosen. Beginning from an image inspired by Sandro Botticelli's Venus, the work unfolds through a series of nets that protect, restrict, and transform the body. Through them, shifting female archetypes appear — armor, hair, sea creatures, sirens, a newborn — revealing how one woman can hold many contradictions at once.

Moving between voice and silence, fragility and strength, the piece searches for a personal, self-defined expression of womanhood.

Solo Dance Work — 2024

Be Patient
with Me

About the work
Be Patient with Me is an intimate solo created during a period of uncertainty, returning to the smallest gestures as a place of listening and emergence. Through repetition, hesitation, and quiet presence, the work explores how something can grow out of emptiness — and how pausing itself becomes an act of creation.

Movement as Stillness

A series of four large canvases created through bodily movement using acrylic paint and masking tape. The work attempts to give form to invisible movement — the physical and emotional motion that continues even in moments of stillness.

This project bridges a background in visual art with choreographic research, reflecting an ongoing interest in the body as medium and source.
